  • Condition: EXCELLENT CONDITION -NO CHIPS OR CRACKS IN GLASS BOTTLE WITH EXCEPTION TO ONE TINY NICK OFF THE TOP OF THE STOPPER. IT'S VERY SMOOTH, THOUGH, SO PERHAPS IT'S ORIGINAL TO THE STOPPER. THE SHIELD GLASS OVER THE LABEL SHOWS A HORIZONTAL CRACK ON THE RIGHT SIDE. FROM THE BACK SIDE OF THE BOTTLE YOU CAN SEE NUMEROUS CRACKS IN THE ADHESIVE, BUT LABEL IS SECURE. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES FOR DETAILS AND ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

    Antique 1800'S  HAND BLOWN APOTHECARY TINCTURE BOTTLE JAR with LABEL UNDER GLASS SHIELD DESIGN  "OLEUM BERGAM.” with solid ground glass stopper.
    Small air bubbles can be seen throughout the glass base and stopper from the blown glass process. Smooth pontil base bottom. Original solidified contents remain in the bottom.  Stopper  is too tight for me to remove.
    Measurements: Height: 8.5” with stopper; 7.5" without
    Base: 2.75” in diameter
    My husband and I are both pharmacists who have been collecting antique apothecary items for 30 years.  I encourage you to save me as a seller if you enjoy collecting medicinal history as well.
