Vintage Steiff Fawn / Deer 1950s - US Zone

Vintage Steiff Fawn / Deer from the 1950s. This stuffed toy has Steiff button tag in 1 ear! The eyes and mouth embroidery in excellent condition.
It is made of wool plush so has a fuzzy, soft feel. The wool plush is a more rare material used in the early 1950s.
History lesson: This Steiff has a US Zone Germany tag which in of itself has an interesting history.  It is a marker of the post-WWII time in Germany where the Allied powers had divided up Germany into various de-militarized their occupational zones in efforts to demilitarize the country.  It was at the Potsdam Conference where the Allies decided
to abolish the German armed forces and the
factories and civilian industries that supported them.
In this case, in the south of Germany, the US military was in charge of and enforced business and manufacturing standards, all with the goal of regulating Germany's industrial capacity/output post-war.
